The focus here is not only on Johann Sebastian Bach, but also on what his music continues to inspire today: a sense of community, exchange, and inspiration. **The festive festivities kick off on** **Sunday, August 9, at 8:00 p.m.** **with** the **opening concert** **“Fear Not.”** The program features the cantata *“Wo soll ich fliehen hin” (* BWV 5 *)*, the motet *“Fürchte dich nicht”* (BWV 228 *)*, and the chorale cantata *“Wer nur den lieben Gott lässt walten”* (BWV 93).As a dazzling highlight, the **Second Brandenburg Concerto** will also be performed—a fireworks display of Baroque virtuosity. All works will be performed according to **historical performance practice** by a top-tier ensemble: Christian Simeth (Baroque trumpet), Gabriel Gramesc (Baroque oboe), Bálint Kovács (recorder), and Maria Holzer-Graf (Baroque violin), as well as the soloists Maria Ladurner (soprano), Johanna Rademacher (alto), Nikolaus Pfannkuch (tenor), and Benjamin Sattlecker (bass).
