Our holiday apartment is located in the middle of the baroque village square of Viechtwang in Upper Austria's Almtal, built into a 200-year-old barn. On three floors you can enjoy modern comfort in a historic wooden building, with wide views of the mountains and the village square with its baroque church.
Our roof terrace offers a box seat above the village square, where you can enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine. A tavern, the "Taverne Silmbroth", is right next door.
You can hike directly from the village square, either up to the gentle heights of the Hacklberg and the Bäckerberg, or down to the crystal-clear Alm river. Or you can always follow your nose in the direction of Traunstein.
In summer you can walk to the Alpenfreibad Viechtwang in five minutes, one of the most beautiful outdoor pools in Upper Austria. In winter, the ski bus to Kasberg starts in the immediate vicinity.
The Buddhist center Gomde on the Bäckerberg can be reached by car in 5 minutes and in a leisurely walk in three quarters of an hour.
The town of Gmunden am Traunsee is 15 km away, as is the Cumberland Wildlife Park on the way to Almsee, against the 2000 meter high backdrop of the Dead Mountains.
The Servus Almtal with a river view offers three floors and is perfect for two people. The kitchen and the living area invite you to linger and on the balcony you can enjoy a wonderful view. A comfortable double bed awaits you in the bedroom. The modern bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a sliding door.
