Our "old" inn has been standing here at the intersection of Lake Hallstatt in Steeg/ Bad Goisern for almost 500 years. The Steegwirt is one of the few surviving Renaissance buildings in the Salzkammergut. In the 16th century, the salt ships changed from the lake to the Traun here. You can still imagine this today when you enjoy the atmosphere in the garden under the chestnut trees or on the terrace in a marvellous location. Accommodation at the Steegwirt ------------------------------ In the course of the renovation work in 2018, we can now offer our guests a **unique sleeping option** too. Each of our four rooms is individually furnished with its own charm. Almost all of the Steegwirt's old furnishings (old wood, furniture...) have been used and restored, which gives the rooms their own character On **24m² of feel-good space** the rooms are equipped with an open shower and wash area, separate toilet, satellite TV and double bed with **box-spring mattress** . Restful nights are therefore guaranteed and you can of course also enjoy the **glorious view** of Lake Hallstatt and the massive Ramsau Mountains. All four rooms are located on the 1st floor and are easily accessible by **lift**. You can also look forward to sunny moments directly on Lake Hallstatt. The Steegwirt has its **own bathing area**, directly opposite the house. Since the Steegwirt is located in the middle of the breathtaking landscape of the Salzkammergut, you can definitely take advantage of all the region's charms! In **1979** it was finally taken over by the innkeepers Fritz and Brigitte Grampelhuber. They built up a masterpiece and shaped the Steegwirt's likeability through their character. In the course of renovation work **in 2018**, the innkeepers passed the inn on to their two sons, Fritz Jr. and Tamino Grampelhuber, in confidential hands. Both learnt their trade from absolute masters of their trade. Fritz Jr. with the brothers Karl and Rudolf Obauer (4 toques) in Werfen and Tamino with Claus Peter Lumpp (3 Michelin stars) in Baiersbronn in the Black Forest. The two brothers combine down-to-earth dishes and honest products from the region with culinary excursions into the world of delicacies - this is how our image is formed, that our guests and friends appreciate.
