At the Am Taferlberg crossroads, turn right, then left at the Taferlberg chapel down to the Fellnersiedlung and petrol station, past this on the right and down to the Lungitzbach. After crossing it, turn left to the Hammerwek Buchsbaum, continue along the old B 124, pass under the new B 124 bridge and follow a forest path parallel to the B 124 to an asphalt access road. Follow this to the left and after the farm turn sharp right onto a meadow path, cross a small ditch and continue straight on, slightly uphill, to Stranzberg. After approx. 400 m (chapel), turn left, then after approx. 170 m turn right onto the idyllic hiking trail down to Hohensteg. Turn left there and continue along the country road to the Kettenbach bridge, which you cross after approx. 800 m. Then immediately turn left onto a wide forest road that winds uphill in several hairpin bends. From here you have a magnificent view of the north-western Mühlviertel. Continue on the slightly ascending access road and after approx. 110 m turn into a forest path, briefly parallel to the asphalt road, then continue on this road to the left for approx. 30 m, turn sharp right again onto a forest path, after approx. 200 m back onto the road and then left up to the farm. Walk around the farm on the right-hand side on the meadow path until you reach the forest. At the end of the forest, take a sharp left to Bauer z'Haarland and then left along a field path to Kettenbach. Cross the old stone bridge to the main road, continue right and after 400 m turn left onto the Kleinthanhofer estate road. Follow a meadow path and then a forest path uphill back towards Tragwein.
