From the forest pool in Bad Mühllacken, we hike on the right-hand side along the Pesenbach stream into the nature reserve. Past the Waldandacht and the Gaißkirche church. After the "Schlager Salettl", the alpine hiking trail begins with the ascent to the Kerzenstein. **Route variant 2** From the Kerzenstein, the route continues upstream to Gerling and from there via the railway and bus stop back to Bad Mühllacken to the Waldbad or connection to Linz.
