Immediately from the castle away it climbs steeply again, on a forest path you reach a clearing and pass farms and hop fields in Gaisruckdorf . Then cross the old Gutauer Straße at Kriechmayrdorf (1 h), walk along the goods road to Selker (¼ h) and cross the Gutauer Landesstraße. (Refreshments available at the GH Postl). Opposite the old primary school, follow a tarmac path towards the railway line (¼ h). Continue through the railway subway to the left, initially along the Feldaist river until shortly after the Wintermühle mill (¼ h). The path then runs close to the railway and continues downhill along the river again, past the Kumpfmühle (which houses a small but fine private museum) and a pitch oil stone to reach the Pürmühle. The path remains along the river and only after passing the old hammer mill does it lead up many steps to the Calvary and back to the centre. **Variant P8a "HOPPING"** Walking time: approx. 4¾ hours This is a slightly longer variant, which branches off to the right after crossing the old Gutauer Straße in Kriechmayrdorf and, after crossing the Gutauer Landesstraße, leads through hop fields to the Bierbuschenschank Eder in Neustadt. The trail then continues along a tarmac road, crosses the Kefermarkter Landesstraße and descends to the Feldaist. After passing under the Linz - Summerau railway line, you walk parallel to it along the river until you meet up with trail P8 again. Nature is always there for us.
