Shortly afterwards, leave the cycle path and turn right into the idyllic Rettenbachtal valley, where you will reach the **changing point at the Hinterer Rettenbach car park** (NO charging facilities!) after **approx. 30 minutes and 6 km**. **HIKE**: Starting from the Hinterer Rettenbach car park, hike a little way out of the valley. At the fork in the path, turn left over the Rettenbach onto a forest path. However, you soon leave this and change to a forest road - past the Stadler farmhouse to the turn-off onto hiking trail 26 towards Spannriegl, just before the Rießriegl farm. The old Spannriegl farm - now owned by the Austrian Federal Forests - is idyllically situated between gnarled fruit trees and a deer feeding station. Continue through a short ditch to the "Koppen" and from there on a little-used road back to the starting point (the Kalkalpen National Park cycle path R31 also runs here in parts).
