The climb to Hiaslberg can be very slippery when wet. **Directions:** The route starts at the station in Großraming, we pass by the Pizzeria Rialto and after 100 meters turn left at the signpost towards Hiaslberg into the trail. First on alpine meadows, then partly steeply through the forest, we quickly gain altitude. After 2.5 km we reach a signpost that leads us to Hiaslberg, rewarding us with a great view of Großraming. Continuing, we descend keeping right and reach forest paths and forestry roads at km 4 into Scharnreith. Ascending right past the farm over forestry roads, we go to Hirner Hof. Here we descend the asphalt road to a crossing. Straight over here, walking along the road, we go up to Bürscher Hof. Over a steep pull path, we reach the forest edge. Here, we run along the forest edge to the right; a signpost 45 E shows us the direction. Afterwards, we go down through the forest on a hiking trail into the Sandluckengraben. We cross a small stream and follow it downstream. At km 10.4 we reach an asphalt road again, which leads us through Rodelsbach out of the valley. We keep right running along the road until we arrive back in Großraming. **Tip:** A detour to Hiaslberg with a magnificent view of Großraming is highly recommended. **Equipment:** The required equipment always depends on the respective route and weather conditions. Regarding provisions: this is very individual, and it is advisable to have more rather than less with you for both equipment and provisions. A 5km round in the valley requires less than a demanding route in the mountains. The weather can change quickly, and if you are not constantly moving or have to take a break, warm clothing is very important, for example. Here is a general checklist for you: - Weather-appropriate running clothes for the respective season – weather forecast – region – altitude. These include, among others: \\* a waterproof rain jacket \\* waterproof rain pants suitable for running \\* gloves and warm headwear (beanie/headband/tube scarf) \\* sunglasses + sunscreen + headwear for very warm days - Trail running shoes - Water bottles, soft flasks, or a hydration bladder with enough fluids for the respective route (possibly also salt tablets/magnesium) - Snacks for an energy boost in between: energy bars, gels, chocolate, trail mix - Running backpack: ideally a trail running vest / a trail running backpack or a waist belt for small routes. - Dry pack: so that your valuables or change of clothes stay dry (optional a small trash bag) - Emergency blanket - Small first aid kit. An Israeli bandage is, in my opinion, very recommended: it is a one-handed operable wound and pressure bandage. Legendär ist der Mittwoch-Knödeltag, der neben vielen Stammgästen auch immer Feinschmecker anzieht, die durch Mundpropaganda angelockt werden. An die 300 Stück Grammel-, Fleisch- und Hascheeknödel werden durchschnittlich gekocht. Besonders geschätzt wird auch das "Ritteressen", das bei besonders feierlichen Anlässen gern und ausgiebig konsumiert wird. Hausgemachte Mehlspeisen runden das kulinarische Angebot ab. Im Obergeschoß finden sich Säle, die bis zu 120 Personen Platz bieten. Ein Querschnitt und eine Gegenüberstellung von landwirtschaftlichen, bürgerlichen und adeligen Fortbewegungsmitteln stehen im Mittelpunkt des Museums. Das Museum zeigt Kutschen, die „Geschichte erzählen“, wie z.B. der Schlitten, mit dem Josef Werndl fuhr, oder die Prunkkarosse der Linzer Diözesanbischöfe. Dem Zubehör rund um Kutsche und Pferd ist ein weiterer Teil des Museums gewidmet. Ein besonderes Anliegen des Museums ist es, die kulturgeschichtlichen Aspekte der früheren Fortbewegungsmittel heutigen Besuchern näher zu bringen und die Geschichte rund um die „Fahrkultur“ von einst zu erzählen. Zudem ist auch die Sammlung der Heimatstube Großraming vertreten, die einen authentischen Einblick in das Leben der Ennstaler Bevölkerung im 19. Jahrhundert zu besichtigen. Der Bau der Ennstaler Kastenkrippe wird heute vielfach in Kursen vermittelt. Ausgehend von meinen Restaurationstätigkeiten 1980 entstand bald der Wunsch, die Tradition des Krippenbauens neu zu beleben. Seit mehr als 30 Jahren baue ich Krippen. In meinem Krippenmuseum sind ca. 400 Krippen ausgestellt. Ich verwende Formen jeder Art als Gehäuse. Es gibt nichts, wo ich nicht eine Krippe hineinbauen kann. Manche Krippen bevölkern mehrere hundert kleine „Loahmmandln“. Auch das bekannte Steyrer Kripperl kann man in Miniatur bewundern. (Figuren handmodelliert) Mein Krippenbuch „Magische Krippenwelt“ ist im Museum erhältlich. Das Krippenmuseum befindet sich direkt neben dem Kutschenmuseum.
