First through the beech forests of the Kalkalpen National Park, later through mountain pines towards Hoher Nock. At the exit from the Budergraben, keep left and pass the old Koppenalm. From the south-western foothills of the Nock ridge, the trail descends to the Bärenriedlauhütte, once the imperial hunting lodge of Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne. The hut is NOT staffed and can only be visited on certain days. Enjoy the view of the Windischgarsten valley and the Tote Gebirge mountains in the background. From here, the trail leads along the south side of the Sengsengebirge mountains, first on a narrow path and later on a forest road and forest paths via the Saubach and Koppen back down into the valley. The last section back to the car park is on the road or finally on a forest road.
