There is a plague column next to the parish church. As with all chapels, wayside shrines and wayside crosses that we pass on our hike, we will find a brief description and explanation here.** We now walk around the church and cross Marktstraße at the tobacconist's. We follow Herrnwiesweg in an easterly direction and soon discover the **Bildstock of St. Joseph** on the left-hand side of the entrance to the retirement home. From there, we continue walking, cross Pfaffinger Bezirksstraße and immediately see the covered wooden footbridge on which we cross over to the other side of the Vöckla. A few steps further on, at a fork in the path, there is **another wayside shrine,** we turn left and walk along the so-called Herrnsteg back to Pfaffinger Bezirksstraße. Here we cross the road again and walk along the pavement back towards Au. At the narrow intersection, we turn right into Haushamer Straße. A few metres further on, we reach another fork in the road. Here we now walk uphill through the "Maurachen Allee", a special kind of natural monument. After the ascent, we come to the **Haushamerfeld, which is known far beyond the borders.** Here, the **Peasant War Monument** commemorates the dramatic events of the Peasants' Wars around 1625. The ["Frankenburg Dice Game](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frankenburger_W%C3%BCrfelspiel)" is also held every two years to commemorate these tragic clashes between peasants and landlords. Our hike now takes us down to the Pfaffing village hall and then, past the tennis courts, a little steeper up to the **Pfaffing parish church** with its magnificent vicarage. The small church in Pfaffing is one of the oldest places of worship in the district of Vöcklabruck. The Romanesque masonry of the church dates back to the period between 1050 and 1150. During the Gothic period in the 15th century, the church was extended to the west. In 1631, which is cited in reference books as the year of construction, the exterior of the church was given a new, baroque plaster finish. North of the small church, we reach the village of Holzpoint on a narrow footpath and cycle path. A short detour is worthwhile here. To do this, we turn right and shortly afterwards turn left down the narrow village road to reach the striking **picture post of the Kibler family** at the back of the village (after around 200 metres). However, we have to return to the goods road. We walk in a westerly direction towards the next village. Shortly before Frieding, we turn left to a **weather cross** standing alone in a wide field (about 300 metres). Back in the village of Frieding, we can visit the magnificent **house chapel of the Konrad family**. (This is permitted despite a fence!) Shortly after Frieding - a short distance before the road leads into a small forest - a dirt track branches off to the left in a southerly direction. Good visibility along this section of the route provides an unrivalled panoramic view of the alpine mountain landscape of the Salzkammergut. Finally, we reach the village of Ziegelhaid. In Ziegelhaid, we keep to the right and walk westwards out of the village. We soon reach the next crossroads, where we turn left. Shortly before we turn left again onto a dirt track at a small bend in the road, we have the opportunity to take another detour. Staying on the road for about 150 metres, there is a **small shrine** on the right-hand side. The field path mentioned above leads slightly downhill to Fischham. Immediately after a slight left turn, you will see the so-called **Daxl Chapel** of the Neubacher family on the right-hand side of the village road, which you are of course welcome to visit. After visiting the Daxl Chapel, we keep to the right and leave Fischham on a narrow dirt track. This former church path leads us down and over to the Pfadi-Alm. On this section of the circular hike, there is another short **detour** (approx. 200 metres) to a **marterl** on the left. From the Pfadi Alm, we then hike up to the recently renovated [Vöcklamarkt Kalvarienbergkirche](), a small church with a special history. On the Kalvarienberg, Vöcklamarkt lies at our feet, so to speak, and we once again enjoy the wonderful view of the incomparable landscape of the Attergau.
