We pass a lovingly designed sundial and enjoy the magnificent view down into the Vöcklatal valley and the magnificent panorama of the mountains of the Salzkammergut** . We start our hiking tour at the municipal office in Vöcklamarkt in a northerly direction and turn into Herrnwiesweg right next to the tobacconist. Walking in an easterly direction, we reach Pfaffinger Bezirksstraße. After passing this road, we come to the wooden Herrnsteg footbridge, on which we cross the Vöckla. From here, we walk through a meadow landscape in the direction of Aierzelten. At a fork in the path, we turn right, use the Westbahn railway subway and immediately reach the village. We walk through the scattered settlement and soon come to a striking Vöcklabrücke bridge. Immediately after the bridge, we turn left and walk a short distance along the pavement that runs alongside the Frankenburger Landesstraße. Just before the Pillichshammer joinery, we cross the Frankenburger Landesstraße. Now we head uphill to Walkering. On the left, we soon catch sight of the beautiful [Schloss Walkering ]()At the height of the castle, after a sharp right-hand bend, the road leads slightly uphill into the village of Viecht. At a lovingly designed sundial, we enjoy the magnificent view down into the Vöcklatal valley and the magnificent panorama of the mountains of the Salzkammergut. We now briefly follow the slightly sloping road, but then immediately turn left again and hike into the forest. At a fork in the path, it is worth taking a short detour - up to the left we reach the **Viechter summit cross** (300m). The route now leads back along the forest to the **Hehenberg** viewpoint. Here you can already see down to the busy B1, we follow the footpath on the left side of the B1 to the end of the village. Now we continue downhill to Witzling where we turn right onto the goods road to Unteralberting. We follow this path and reach a fork in the road near the village. There we have to decide whether we want to **extend** the Route 1b hiking trail to Reichenthalheim (approx. 5km longer) **or whether we want to continue on Route 1a**. Route 1a finally takes us to the small village of Hörading. Following the road, we soon reach the B1 main road. Here we need to be extremely careful, as we have to walk a short distance to the right along the road before we can cross the B1 at the Greinöcker&Willibald supermarket. Now we continue on to the village of Waschprechting. For the time being, we stay on the road that leads through the village. At the end of the village (at the fire station), we continue straight ahead on a dirt track to the edge of the forest. We briefly walk along the edge of the forest, but soon the path leads downhill to the right through the forest until we finally reach the Frankenburger Landesstraße again. We cross this road through a small subway and then walk a short distance in a westerly direction along the (mostly waterless) Mösentaler Bach stream to the local railway station or ÖBB railway station in Vöcklamarkt. There we use the subway of the western railway line and then return to the starting point of the circular hike.
