In front of the farmhouse Gschwendthäusl, the path leads left into the forest and becomes increasingly steeper, reaching the flat alpine terrain of Gschwendtalm after 45 minutes. Only the ascent track divides the flawlessly white surface. Behind the alpine pasture, it gradually gets steeper again and you reach a forest road at the forest edge, which you follow to the hunting lodge below the Gamsstein. Only the summit slope separates the ski tourers from the highest point at 1,275 m. In switchbacks, it finally goes to the ridge and on this, you reach the summit in a few steps. The varied landscape of the Kalkalpen National Park with the Reichraminger Hintergebirge and Sengsengebirge with the extensive forests and the more distant two-thousanders of the Haller Mauern and Ennstaler Alps lies in full splendor before the successful tourers. Two magnificent slopes await the ski tourers on the descent; for snowshoe hikers, the descent is just as fun, as you can "float down" the slopes with good snow conditions. The second beautiful slope leads down towards Gschwendtalm. Die Hütten bieten jeweils ein Matratzenlager für bis zu 7 Personen. Eine kleine Sitzgelegenheit und die Zentralheizung machen die Hütten sehr gemütlich und warm. WC und Dusche befinden sich in einer Nebenhütte. Die Gemeinschaftshütte zur Selbstversorgung befindet sich einige Meter entfernt. In der gemütlichen und voll ausgestatteten Aufenthaltshütte kann man zaumsitzn oder gemeinsam kochen: Tischherd mit Backrohr, Wasserkocher, Filter – Kaffeemaschine, Geschirr für 30 Personen, Kühlschrank, Brunnen vor der Hütte – alles vorhanden. Am Abend trifft man sich am Lagerfeuerplatz direkt neben dem Bach. Die Hütten werden das ganze Jahr über und nur auf Selbstversorgerbasis vermietet. Unsere Lafthütten liegen in besonders idyllischer und ruhiger Lage, am Rande des Nationalparks Kalkalpen in Grossraming, im Ortsteil Brunnbach. In Einzellage, ohne Durchzugsverkehr ist es ein idealer Ort zum Erholen und Entspannen und zur Ruhe zu kommen.
