From the Rohrauerhaus you hike via the Hofersteig to the Großer Pyhrgas, sure-footedness required, path no. 615 - **because of the risk of falling rocks, please wear a helmet!** **BIKE**: Relatively short but crispy mountain bike tour! Start from the indoor pool car park and turn left into the Sandstrasse to the youth hostel Lindenhof. Then turn left and follow the signs MTB9. Part of the route leads over a narrow road to the Bosruckhütte, on nice days the traffic volume is very high, so drive carefully! Passing the Bosruckhütte, you drive along the partly steep forest road to the **changing point at the Rohrauerhaus.** **The bike tour takes about 2.5 hours | 20km | 1,000 Hm (total tour) added to the given tour details**. **HIKE**: At the Rohrauerhaus (1,308m) you can strengthen yourself for the mountain hike. You soon reach the Pyhrgasgatterl, through which the Styrian-Upper Austrian border runs. Following the state border northwards over the Hofersteig (path no. 615 - please wear a helmet because of the danger of falling rocks!) you first come through a wooded area, which later turns into rugged terrain. The trail climbs steeply to the lower summit. As soon as you reach the shelter cave, the path becomes a little more comfortable and soon you have reached the summit of the Great Pyhrgas (2,244 m). On a clear day you have a fantastic view from here! **Walking time Rohrauerhaus - Gr. Pyhrgas approx. 2.5-3 hours.** The descent takes place to the shelter cave on the ascent path. At the crossroads, descend to the right and hike steadily downhill to the Hofalmsattel (approx. 1425 m, path no. 614). Via the Brandneralm we return to the Rohrauerhaus. The MTB route leads again via the Bosruckhütte and then through the district of Grünau down to the indoor pool car park in Spital am Pyhrn.
