The Spitzmauer is also called the small Matterhorn of the Eastern Alps. From the **Polsterstüberl changing point** you can reach the Prielschutzhaus (1,420 m) in about 2 hours. From there it's another 2.5 hours to the Spitzmauer. **BIKE**: from the center of Hinterstoder you follow the cycle path R307 in the direction of Polsterstüberl, you can also follow the state road into the valley to the **changing point at the Polsterstüberl.** **The bike tour takes about 25 minutes | 5km | 40 Hm (one way) added to the given tour details**. **HIKE**: First you hike in about 2 hours to the Prielschutzhaus where the via ferrata to the Spitzmauer begins. The Stodertal via ferrata leads in the right, lowest part of the Spitzmauer north face, very well secured, to the back of the Spitzmauer summit. From the end of the via ferrata you can reach the summit of the Spitzmauer in 40 minutes on a normal hiking trail. From here you have a breathtaking view far beyond the Stodertal. The climb has a continuous steel cable safety device and numerous brackets. Steep wall steps (B) alternate with inclined plates (A, A/B) and ladders - sometimes very exposed! **How difficult will it be?** The Stodertaler-Steig is suitable for physically fit children as well as those who are less experienced, although a safety rope should not be left out! **We definitely recommend you basic via ferrata equipment and a rockfall helmet!
