The trail starts directly at the water in Mondsee, leading over the scenic Kolomansberg and then very rewarding and varied all the way down to the Irrsee. Along the water of the Irrsee, you calmly jog the last kilometers before taking the bus back. **Recommended season:** - March - April - May - June - July - August - September - October - November **Description:** Anyone who wants to explore the beautiful area around Mondsee and has some time should highly recommend this trail run. Directly from Mondsee, over the scenic Kolomannsberg, to the Irrsee. You experience surprisingly many different landscapes and trails. At first, it goes very runnable on wide paths, at Kolomannsberg you also find very narrow single trails and the occasional marshy meadow path, dark forest trail, or tractor track. The last part invites you to "cool down" where the final kilometers can be easily earned: along the water of the Irrsee. **Directions:** The path starts directly at the Robert Baum Promenade, where the boat dock is also located. From there a short detour through Almeida Park, you soon find the signs of the hiking trail along Hierzenberger Street and follow the Zeller Ache. Just before the snack station Erlachmühle, you run shortly and steeply up a small path on the left, which leads directly over the Obergaisberg towards Kolomannsberg. At a crossroads, the trail begins, which slowly leads over meadows and woods up to Kolomannsberg. Path No. 8 is partly very runnable and winds joyfully through the forest, where it ends you suddenly stand in front of the Kolomann church made entirely of wood! Now comes a short but extremely fun downhill section, where you keep right at the fork. If you have had enough here, you can also run directly back to Mondsee from here, or at the next junction. Afterwards, there is a small ascent to the Kolomannstaferl before you run down. Always keep right at the following forks and take a path toward Burg Wildenegg. Unfortunately, almost nothing remains of this castle, so before it, you can follow a somewhat overgrown path to the right straight down to the lake. The last kilometers run along the lake to the district Laiter. Here you can buy an ice cream, cool off with a swim in the lake, or go straight to the bus stop and return to Mondsee. **Tip:** The trail mostly follows the markings for the long-distance path "via Natura" **Safety guidelines:** Bring enough to drink and properly assess the terrain. There are some sections with very soft ground and tall grass where you will be slower. Mit der Gründung erhielt das Kloster umfangreiche Schenkungen, die sich in der folgenden Zeit noch vermehrten. Sie bezogen sich auf das heutige Mondsee- und Wolfgangland. Es gab aber auch Schenkungen in Bayern und im übrigen Ober- und Niederösterreich.Die ersten Mönche sollen nach der Klostertradition von Monte Cassino gekommen sein. Es gibt allerdings auch ernstzunehmende Überlegungen, dass die ersten Mönche nach der Regula mixta gelebt haben.
