From there, it goes downhill again on narrow side roads and pull paths over the Wurbauerkogel to Roßleithen near Windischgarsten. **Quality of experience:** ***** **Recommended season:** - April - May - June - July - August - September - October **Properties:** - Scenic **Description:** From the [Parking lot Unterlaussa](https://www.outdooractive.com/r/22436432/) at the museum [Knappenhaus Unterlaussa](https://www.outdooractive.com/r/18165668/) it goes along the Hengstpass state road L550 (motorcycle traffic on weekends!) approx. 4.5 kilometers to the Holzgraben junction. As the name "Holzgraben" already suggests, the riding trail leads embedded in mountain forests over a forest road towards the foot of the Wasserklotz; shortly before the Ahornsattel, the forest road merges into an alpine trail. From Ahornsattel, you reach the [Dörflmoaralm](https://wildniswandern.kalkalpen.at/de/suche/?q=d%C3%B6rflmoaralm) via an easy pull path. Here you enjoy a wonderful view of the Tote Gebirge with the Großer Priel and the Spitzmauer. From Dörflmoaralm you ride further on a forest road over the Langfirst to [Haslersgatter](https://www.outdooractive.com/r/22472188/). Here you meet a little-used road which leads down below Kleinerberg to the [Erlebnisberg Wurbauerkogel](https://www.outdooractive.com/r/17839649/). Over the Salzatal you take the last stretch downhill to Roßleithen (Windischgarsten) to the [Villa Sonnwend](https://www.outdooractive.com/r/17840804/).**Tip:** - Please do not forget to save the route "offline" before you start (top right), as mobile reception in the forest wilderness of the national park is not always available. **Safety guidelines:** **Use of the riding trails is at your own risk. Scenic elements (mountains, valleys, rocks, gorges…) are natural hazards and require reserves in time planning.** **Riding rules:** \- Riding in the national park is permitted from 15.04. to 31.10. – on other riding trails all year round – from two hours after sunrise until one hour before sunset. \- Ride only on marked routes! Riding is a special natural experience. Wild animals do not run away from the rider; they consider the rider a strange kind of animal. However, horses are not always predictable when encountering animals, hikers, and cyclists. Therefore, riding in the national park is only possible on marked riding routes! \- Reliably close all pasture gates. \- Many riding routes are also designated as bike paths. Always expect oncoming cyclists or motor vehicles. \- Some routes are long and the terrain is partly steep. Die damals mit 14 Kilometern längste Materialseilbahn Mitteleuropas brachte das Bauxit vom Bergbaugebiet zur Bahnverladung nach Weißenbach an der Enns. Der Nachbau des Knappenhauses vom Blaberg zeigt 800 Jahre Bergbau-Geschichte des Ortes. Gewinnung, Transport des Bauxits und Verarbeitung bis zum Endprodukt Aluminium sind im Knappenhaus dargestellt.
