The Enns valley has been shaped by trade and transport for centuries. Iron from Erzberg, products of the iron-processing industry and necessary food were transported on the Iron Road and on the Enns. Whereas in the past there were wagons, rafts and Enns ships, later the railway and roads took over the transport of goods. From a transport route the Enns became a supplier of energy. **Directions:** The themed route starts at the historic market square, leads downstream along the Gaflenz past the Schmidbergerwehr. Then you cross the Gaflenz and hike up over the Rapoldeck to Kleinloiben. The view of Kleinreifling shows the way. It goes downhill, the federal road must be crossed and then it goes right towards Kleinreifling town centre. Above the cemetery the path leads to Kastenreith and over the promenade back to the market square in Weyer. **Tip:** Climate-friendly to the National Park region – Weyer station, Kastenreith station, Kleinreifling station: by train you are at the starting point for this hike in about 2 hours from Linz and in about 2.5 hours from Vienna.
