This easy hiking trail leads through woods and meadows to the 4 traditional inns in Waldhausen im Strudengau. You can decide for yourself which inn you would like to visit and which hiking highlights along the route you would like to stop at. Highlights of the tour are: Berta-Ruhe viewpoint with a view over the whole of Waldhausen - collegiate church on the Schlossberg and Klostersteig and many marvellous viewpoints and discovery points along the route. The gourmet culinary tour starts at the market square in Waldhausen. This is also where the first two inns are located - Gasthof Schauer directly on the market square and Schlüsselwirt Hader 200 metres to the west. The first stage leads along the Klostersteig to the collegiate church, to which an optional detour (audio guide about the history of the monastery) is recommended. From the collegiate church, the trail continues to Gasthof Reutner, where a beautiful garden invites you to linger. The trail continues past the historic Meierhof (= riding stables) along the Donausteig past the Wasserleiter, Vorderkesselberger, Gumpoldshofer and through the forest to the village of Langenbach, where you will find the Rosenmayer Catering inn with a rest area. The trail continues through the settlement and across the meadow to Lindenhofer Gut, on to Guster and at Eder turn right towards the centre of Waldhausen. The last stop on the trail is Berta Ruhe, from where you can enjoy a marvellous view over the whole village. Back at the village square, the two inns, Gasthof Schauer with a wonderful place to sit in the courtyard and Schlüsselwirt Hader, known for its homemade ice cream specialities, invite you back.
