Climbing on the figures is strictly prohibited. **The Höhen- & Sagenweg trail at the Ewige Wand in Bad Goisern is a unique highlight for the whole family. The trail along the legends of the Salzkammergut is easy to master, as there are only a few meters of altitude to climb. A stop at a mountain hut and a fantastic mountain panorama included!** The Ewige Wand in Bad Goisern has always been a popular excursion destination. The two tunnels, through which the 5,000 starters of the **[Salzkammergut Mountain Bike Trophy](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/oesterreich-veranstaltung/detail/48220006/salzkammergut-mountainbike-trophy-2020.html?utm_source=tourdata&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=tourdata)** battle their way every year, were completed in 1956.**Hiking at the Eternal Wall in Bad Goisern** ---------------------------------------------- The legend trail with **lovingly carved figures** was opened in 2007 and has since brought countless families closer to exciting stories from the Salzkammergut. There are exactly **seven legends from the past** and the life and development of the Inner Salzkammergut that accompany you on the approximately **1.5-kilometer-long** trail. There are also a number of carved figures to discover. You usually start at the parking lot of the **[Rathlucken Hütte](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/oesterreich-gastronomie/detail/102864/rathlucken-huette.html?utm_source=tourdata&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=tourdata)**, shortly after the view over to the Ewige Wand, you enter the **mystical forest full of legends and stories**. The trail is suitable for all-terrain baby carriages to a limited extent. However, the path has remained natural in some places, which means there are larger roots and rocks to overcome. It is not a gravel path. **Family hike with exciting legends** -------------------------------------- On the legend trail, you pass one legend after another. From the **dying king** to the **giant crib**, there are legends that our great-grandfathers already knew. After all the stories have been read out to the children, another highlight follows - the **path through the Eternal Wall** and its two tunnels. Although the path is secured by a wire rope railing, small children could still slip through if they are careless, so take them by the hand for safety, act on your own responsibility and be careful. At the end of the path, a few steps lead down to a rest area with an even better view of the **[Dachstein Krippenstein](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/oesterreich-poi/detail/430004188/dachstein-krippenstein-seilbahn.html?utm_source=tourdata&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=tourdata)**. The same path then takes you back to the parking lot. ### **The treasure of cordiality:** In **2022** , the legend trail was also supplemented with the **"Treasure of Cordiality"** story. Here, families can read the story at **three stations** along the way, find the water spirit and even find their own way through the colorful pieces of wood, which are supposed to represent the lost gems of the magpie. **General information:** The trail is a "shared track".
