Order the local Waldluftbade hiking map of Leopoldschlag at anfrage@muehlviertel.at The hiking trail leads from the market town of Leopoldschlag on the western slope of the Leopoldschläger Berg past Kohlstatt and Kolau to the Marienquelle spring with very good water. After crossing the road, we hike along the horse-drawn railway path over the Schweighofer hill. In the area of the continental divide there is a ridge with the field name "Denkstatt". It refers to the site of the old Leopoldschlag meeting place on the watershed. Legend has it that the parish church was to be built here. However, what had been built disappeared every morning and was rebuilt elsewhere. So, after several attempts, the building site was finally moved to its present location. The trail continues over the Schöllhammer Höhe, a Celtic signalling hill, to Edlbruck and on to Eisenhut. The highest point in the Eisenhut area is a place of high vital energy and fertility. In the "Birahoiz" (= birch forest) above the Koller farm in Eisenhut there is a small rock above a larger rock formation. Here lies a place of the wise woman. The border hike is a short circular route before we continue towards Wullowitz. A rest stop is recommended there. A small area of moorland forest, the so-called Tobau, has been preserved in Wullowitz. The hiking trail then leads along the Maltsch back to the market town of Leopoldschlag. Several rest stops along the pottery trail offer relaxation and special benefits for mind and soul. Station 1 of the pottery trail on the subject of firing is located at the confluence of the Dorfbach, Wildbach and Maltsch rivers in Markt Leopoldschlag. The site has an unusually balanced ratio of elemental energy, especially as it is located at the confluence of three streams. The colourful mixture of trees around the square, which has grown naturally, is also interesting. The elemental energies are almost balanced.
