A second battery or a charger will probably be necessary. The following highlights make this route, besides the wonderful nature, an unforgettable experience: - A **morning refreshment in Wolfgangsee**, - with a **hut route** on the Postalm and a last view of Wolfgangsee, - the historic **old Postalm road** along the Aubach, - the lonely **Ameisensee** which is not meant for swimming as well as - the alpine pastures and huts with a **view of the Dachstein glacier**. **Directions:** Starting from the **Tourism Office in Strobl** we follow the signage “BergeSeen 4”, start into Moosgasse and turn left into Bahnstraße, which we shortly afterwards leave to the right again into Ischler Straße. We follow this until the Salzburger Straße junction, turning left under the B158 to continue towards the **Postalm**. In Unterberg we turn right (564 m elevation, km 2.0) continuing on asphalt towards the Postalm and unfortunately alongside some cars. We follow the road for 10.9 km and after the Lesserhütte in a 180-degree turn (1143 m elevation, km 12.9) turn onto the forest road towards Thoralm (1330 m, km 15.1). The forest road leads along the contour line to the left towards Huberhütte. A detour to the Gasthof Wiesenalm and further to Erlbachalm (1361 m, km 16.4) is rewarded with a last view of Wolfgangsee. There is one final view of Wolfgangsee from Hoisnrad near Strobl. Now the forest road continues past Wieslerhütte to the Panoramahütte parking lot, where we take the path to the right (1333 m, km 17.9) towards Rosserhütte or Innerlienbachalm. We cross the stream at the **Innerlienbachalm** (1213 m, km 20.1) and descend on the right side of the stream along the old Postalm road. Passing left by the **Abtenauer Hütte**, after 1.8 km we turn right at the Außerlienbachalm (km 21.9), shortly afterwards turning left onto the old Postalm road (1140 m, km 22.3) descending. The **old Postalm road** is historic and has been closed to public traffic for a long time. Our journey continues over bridges and gorges along the Aubach. After about 6.2 km we come to a junction (758 m, km 28.5), which we continue straight across. After around 3.7 km we cross the Aubach, take a short refreshment in the rock pools under the bridge and continue until after 1.5 km we exit the forest with an old wooden house on the right. At this junction we continue straight on asphalt to Pichl. From here we again have a view of the Dachstein, which will accompany us until the end of today’s tour. Just before the B166 Lammertal federal road, we turn left and follow the Lammer river upstream. The **Voglauer Werke** lie on the left by the roadside and we stay on this side road until we reach the B166 (638 m, km 42.4) again. We cross the B166 on the left and turn right onto the side road which takes us over the Russbach river. After crossing, we turn left (km 42.7) and climb in serpentine bends towards Hornspitz, where after 3.7 km we change from asphalt to gravel (979 m, km 46.4) and enter the forest. The ascent is worth a look back now and then. The large summits of the Tennengebirge, Bleikogel, Fritzerkogel, as well as the Schwarzer Berg, Trattberg and finally the Hohe Zinken, with the Postalm and the Gamsfeld spreading out behind us. We follow the well-marked mountain bike route over the Klockaualm, the Ameisensee (1293 m, km 49.8) and before the Edtalm with an impressive view of the Dachstein glacier turn left (1319 m, km 52.9) towards Hornspitz. Continue for 3.5 km through the ski area and before we reach the summit of Hornspitz (1402 m, km 55.3), we turn right at a 180-degree ridge curve, which steeply descends. After a few meters we reach the mountain bikers’ popular **Zeishofalm,** which also serves as a Bosch charging station. The path continues downhill to the left towards Pass Gschütt, which we reach after 4.7 km. Along the way there are various views of the Gosau valley, the Dachstein and the next day’s stage over the Durchgangalm. We cross the B166 to the right downhill to then turn left (895 m, km 62.9) onto the gravel road through the **Rinnwandgraben** towards Gosau. We always stay on the path which descends, and cross the B166 straight ahead at km 68.6. Passing the Chalet Edelweiss we turn right off the B166 after 600 m to Steinermühle (km 70). 100 m later sharply right and after 500 m we reach our day’s destination, the **village center of Gosau**. **Tip:** Careful planning for battery management, as a couple it's easier with 3 batteries and one charger. In any case, **a swim in the lake before the start is recommended**, as it can be noticeably cooler in Gosau.
