Travelling on the MTB trail network in the Kalkalpen National Park is at your own risk and responsibility. As a user, you are responsible in particular for your choice of route, orientation in the terrain, compliance with traffic regulations, the equipment and gear on your bike, wearing a helmet, assessing your personal fitness, assessing dangers and maintaining an appropriate speed. When cycling through the tunnels (Hintergebirgsradweg), a headlamp or a light attached to the bike must be used. The National Park administration accepts no liability whatsoever for any damage caused by the use of the National Park tour suggestions, in particular for accidents. The tour around the Sengsengebirge. The tour starts at the sports field in Windischgarsten, where you ride towards the town centre and turn left into the Enöckl goods road at the Purgleitner tannery bottleneck. In the Salzatal valley, you ride up to the Wurbauerkogel and then steeply up to the Haslersgatter. From here, a 2 km singletrail Steyrsteg (part of it is a push track) takes you into the Kalkalpen National Park. Over the Bodinggraben past the Jagahäusl further out of the valley into Breitenau - before the church turn left up over the Reitern - Steinköpfl down to Molln - further over the Ramsau to the Klaus reservoir where you follow the R8 and then the R31 back to Windischgarsten. **Please note that this loop is not marked as MTB 12 (there is signposting only from 2026)!** From Windischgarsten to Haslersgatter follow MTB 5, from here follow the signs for Steyrsteg/Bodinggraben. In Bodinggraben past the Jagahäusl further out of the valley into Breitenau - before the church turn left uphill over the Reitern - Steinköpfl down to Molln - then left over the Ramsau to the Klaus reservoir where you follow the R8 and then the R31 back to Windischgarsten.
