The "Enjoyment on the Traun River hiking trail from the Almspitz along the Alm river and the Traun river to the lake Traunsee. From Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting via the "Almspitz", Edt bei Lambach, Lambach, Stadl-Paura, Desselbrunn, Roitham, Ohlsdorf, Laakirchen to Gmunden. The tour begins at Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting train station. Arrival by train from Lambach or Vorchdorf is very easy. From there in the direction of Almeggerstraße to the "Almegg Bridge". Before arriving at the bridge, change the side of the street and continue on "Almeggerstraße" raod, at the first possibility turn right intoroad "Traunstraße" road, follow the course of the street. Walk over the bridge and then immediately left towards Almspitz on the "Alm" river path. Go underneath the bridge, right to the settlement and then right over the Traunbrücke to Edt bei Lambach. The hiking trail then leads right into the "Flösserweg" raod, follow this road until the "Traunauweg" road, then left into "Strickerweg" road, left into the "Jägerweg" road, then straight ahead into the "Roidnerweg" raod, straight ahead into the "Werkstrasse" road and then "Hofau" road, past the STIWA company, continue with a view of the cemetery church and Lambach Abbey, continue in the direction of Benedictine monastery Lambach, past the Abbey (actually not, you should have visited the Abbey), over the footbridge to the market square of Lambach, in the direction of the townhall, left past the town hall down the mountain in the direction of Flavia bath, there, cross a small bridge over the Traun river (with island) towards the Trinity Church of Stadl-Paura, which is also always worth a visit. The path continues along the Traun river, where we can already see the confluence from the Ager river into the Traun river. The Traun river makes a bend and we follow the path directly upon the Traun river towards "Schifferstadl" sight. Past the "Schifferstadln", we follow the road to the right over the Traun bridge into the Stadl-Hausruck district, follow the "Schwanenstädter Straße" road (and R4 cycle path signs), turn left into the "Flachbergerweg" road and follow it. Shortly to the right and then immediately left again into "Schwanenstädter Straße" road. On the sidewalk we follow the road for a app. 1 kilometer. Then we cross the road and continue to walk on a forest road. At the next fork off the road we keep left and follow the forest road to the next intersection. This and the next one straight ahead, at the third intersection left and then the next fork on the right. Then straight on until we arrive back to the street, left towards "Mitterbergholz". From here, we follow the R4 bike trail again via "Fallholz" to the village of "Viecht". In Viecht turn left and immediately left again (signs for R4), then right under the Traun bridge past the Traun river fall (also worth visiting), past the "Landgasthof Kastenhuber" inn, continue following the signs for the R 4. Follow the street Viecht (R4), under the motorway bridge, then left and immediately right away from the street, following the path down to the Traun river, cross the bridge at the ALFA Kulturzentrum Steyrermühl, along the Traun to the bridge, right, cross the bridge, then left towards Restaurant Waldesruh, past it following the path along the Traun. After a while you will reach the town limits of Ohlsdorf and Gmunden at the large bridge under which you will pass. In front of the HIPP plant, keep to the left and walk directly upon the Traun river until you come to the power station, where the "Traun promenade" starts and follow it for app. 2 kilometers, walk under the Marienbrücke bridge until you see the city of Gmunden in front of you. Before you arrive at the "Traunbridge", turn right into Kösslmühlgasse and follow until you arrive at the "Trauntor" gate. There you cross the pedestrian crossing and follow the "Kammerhofgasse" road to Gmundner Rathausplatz square.
