The starting point is Rathausplatz, where the town hall and tourist office are located. Follow the main road to the left into the village (preferably on the left-hand side of the road) until you reach the small bridge over the Langbathbach, the so-called "Kaiserbrücke" - cross the bridge and then turn right into Marktgasse - at a crossroads, the Soleweg begins on the left, initially as an access road for the residents - continue straight ahead along the edge of the forest on the Soleleitungsweg to the Plankau district - cross over the "Rudolfsbrücke" bridge to the other side of the Traun, follow the Plankauweg and then continue along the "Traundamm" back to the starting point.
