The 3rd stage leads from the Großalm back to the starting point of the 1st stage, the parish church of Altmünster on Lake Traunsee. **3rd stage:** After a hearty breakfast with regional products, a wayside cross invites us to pause after just 100 metres. Looking back and forward gives us great joy and gratitude for today. After about 1 km of road walking (again past the Nadasdy-Klause), we turn left onto the Moosbach-Forststrasse and after another kilometre we turn right. The Höllengebirge mountains accompany us on the right and the Traunstein can be seen in front of us. The connection to the existing path to Hochkreuth has been newly created and is well signposted. There are 400 metres of ascent to conquer. The beautiful Way of the Cross to Richtberg Taferl begins at the car park of the former zoo, leading downhill for the first 5 stations to the Schwarzenbergsattel, then uphill for another 250 metres. Before the 14th station, there is a signposted spring with delicious spring water a little way off. The Richtberg Taferl Chapel is a much-visited pilgrimage site, albeit from the side we are descending. This way we experience the 2nd Way of the Cross downhill and can internalise some of the stations. The Way of the Cross ends at the Lourdes cross and we are rewarded with a marvellous view of the Traunstein and Höllengebirge mountains. Now we have to follow the road into the valley; depending on the time of year, we can sometimes take a shortcut across meadows. The Rumpling Chapel with its beautiful statue of St Joseph is well worth a visit. In Schwarzenbach we can take a short variant via Dörfl back to Reindlmühl. Some will finish the trail in Reindlmühl; those who still have plenty of strength and time will take the Gmundnerbergweg trail no. 6 to the Tannachweg trail and from there via trail no. 8 and the Rote Kapelle chapel back to Altmünster. Total walking time approx. 7 - 8 h, 25 km for the variant via Gmundnerberg **The Traunsee taxi will take you to your destination (route Taferlklaussee - Großalm - Altmünster) from Monday to Sunday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at favourable prices by calling 050 422 422!
