The route leads from the new market square in Gallneukirchen through the Gusental valley, past Riedegg Castle, along hilly country lanes towards Alberndorf. It is on this part of the route that most of the metres in altitude are already covered at the start. After Alberndorf, the route quickly heads towards the Affenzeller whisky distillery, which invites you to take a break and offers a glimpse into the world of "liquid gold" from the Mühlviertel. Refreshed, the route then continues steadily downhill towards Spattendorf and on to Unterweitersdorf. Back towards the starting point, the route leads slightly uphill on roads with little traffic through the Gusental valley. After 30 km and approx. 430 metres in altitude, you can replenish your calories in the garden of the Riepl inn and look back on a great tour.
