Almsee- Hochpfad- Offensee mountainbike tour

Mountain bike route Almsee - high path - Offensee - Traunsee region
Arrival via Grünau im Almtal via Almtalradweg R 11 to Almsee (also possible by train to Grünau im Almtal). From the north shore of the Almsee, more precisely at the Schwarzenbrunn junction, follow the relatively flat Weißeneggbachforstraße along the idyllic stream to the first hairpin bend. Now a little steeper you follow the high path to the highest point of the route at 1029 meters. Then it goes downhill to the Offensee. This part of the route has it all!! Caution!! Very steep gravel giant, and also the very narrow path to the beginning of the forest road is recommended as a pushing section!!
When you reach the forest road, drive in the direction of Offensee (at the first crossroads you can go straight ahead to GH Seeau), turn right along the Offensee to the car park. There you can either follow the road to Steinkogl (connection to the Trans Salzkammergut MTB route or the Salzkammergut cycle path in the direction of Ebensee or Bad Ischl, as well as the option of using the train at the Steinkogl stop.)
Or you turn right in the direction of Fahrnaustube and then come via the Rindbachtal to Ebensee Rindbach, where you also have the option of arriving or departing by train at the Ebensee train station.

Important information:
We ask you to pay more attention and caution, on the one hand because of the hikers, on the other hand because of the unique nature reserve!

The sliding distance on the trail/hiking trail Hochpfad/Offensee (downhill) or Offensee/Hochpfad (uphill) is approx. 2 km, so it is recommended to add approx. 30-60 minutes to the specified travel time, depending on the direction.
Getting there from Grünau or from Ebensee (Steinkogl) to Offensee is also about 11 km away.
