This walk to the magnificent Siriuskogel viewing point starts by crossing the River Traun on the Kreuzsteg. Turn right and after a short walk turn into a barely visible narrow alley to the left. Follow this and cross Grazerstraße into Siriuskoglgasse. Follow this uphill (right and then left) ending at the foot of the Siriuskogl. Here there is the choice of walking up the Siriuskogel or walking around it (see later) The walk up the Siriuskogl leads to an observation tower (the Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Warte-built in 1885) with beautiful views of Bad Ischl. Keep going straight on, the path is well marked. At the summit is a restaurant with outdoor dining. To continue, return for about 50 m on the ascent path and then turn right onto a forest road. This leads to the walk round Siriuskogl. If you chose not to walk to the summit, from the foot of the Siriuskogl follow the road left, after Südtirolerstraße, to the cemetery. 50 metres after the start of the cemetery wall the trail bends to the right. After a few minutes walking on fields and through woods take a sharp turn to the right on a gravel track (about 100m away from an overpass for the main road). At the next junction,by a pond, turn right and climb gently to a group of buildings. To the left of the buildings go down a narrow path, then immediately right up to Viertauerweg. Follow this to the railway line. A few metres to the left , there is a barely visible narrow low underpass. Go through this and then cross the River Traun on a new bridge and walk leisurely through riverside park area to the Esplanade and the centre of Bad Ischl.
