The Siriuskogl, also known as Hundskogl, is a small mountain in the centre of Bad Ischl. 130 metres high, the hill towers over the imperial town and is clearly visible from afar. The Kogl is very popular with locals and summer holidaymakers alike due to its wonderful views, excellent cuisine and occasional cultural events in the inn. In recent years, the facilities for younger guests at Siriuskogl have been continuously expanded and now another offer has been added to the benefits already mentioned...the artist Stephanie Kefer from Bad Ischl has created a sensory wonder trail along the ascent route. It offers young and old a variety of ways to experience the ascent in a more playful and enjoyable way. The Sensory Wonder Trail, an adventure trail that focuses on the five senses, is designed to familiarise visitors with their own sensory perceptions in an interesting, exciting and surprising way. A wide variety of stations await visitors along the trail: at the scent stelae, the aim is to guess the respective odours, while a listening funnel amplifies the sounds of the forest and sensitises the ear. A barefoot path, a tree telephone and numerous other stations turn the ascent into an exciting journey of discovery, where the perceptual phenomena are sometimes only revealed through your own activity. At the summit of the Siriuskogl, in the immediate vicinity of the inn, a new, spacious playground with unusual play equipment has also been created, providing hours of fun. New signage and the installation of a telescope on the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Warte have also been incorporated into the overall concept of the young Ischl native. The Siriuskogl inn is located directly on the Siriuskogl plateau and has long since become a meeting place for all connoisseurs and gourmets. Koglwirt Christoph Held and his team prepare local specialities, healthy and hearty dishes, international delicacies and homemade pastries with great attention to detail. The animal enclosures around the inn are also very popular, where a wide variety of animal breeds can be observed and fed in peace and quiet. To summarise: the spa town of Bad Ischl has definitely gained a family-friendly leisure attraction with the Siriuskogl Senses Wonder Trail.
