Of medium difficulty and easy access, the via ferrata can be reached, easily and safely and also used when the weather is not that good.** **Via ferrata for advanced climbers with a wonderful view** ----------------------------------------------------------- **Route description** The via ferrata traverses the massive rock faces high above the reservoir in Gosau Hintertal. The first section is graded "B" and "C" in terms of difficulty, and begins 50m south of the water basin. The route is a traverse to the end of the rock section. The access to the main part of the climb is described as "short but strenuous" and graded D - E. This is a vertical ascent from the middle of the rock. Section 2 is mainly B grade, and is an upwards diagonal traverse of an inclined slab wall. After a short forested section, the 3rd part of the tour (graded B and C) is a return to the start (Wandbuch) by means of a ladder and a rope bridge. **Ascend to the via ferrata** From the parking area at the inn Gosauschmied you have to cross the small river "Gosaubach" and take the forest road to the right side. After about 15 minutes in the direction of the Gosau reservoir, you reach the entrance. **Descend from the via ferrata** In about 20 minutes you reach the Bäralm, which is not farmed. In another 40 minutes you come back to the Gosau reservoir and the inn Gosauschmied again.
