This tour is also wonderfully suitable as a winter hiking trail!** A wonderful circular hike above the lakes Mondsee and Irrsee. Start from the centre of Mondsee in direction to Mondseeberg. Passing the B&B Meingast we reach Mondseebergstrasse, which we cross. Via the Rußbachweg we reach the street again in front of the motorway bridge, cross under the motorway and immediately afterwards take the left-hand road, which climbs gently over Berg to the Hussenbauer tavern. We continue on the western slope of the Lackenberg. After house no. 25, a farm road leads down to the left to Hingen. From Hingen we turn south and have the Schafberg and Mondsee in view again. We stay on this street, pass the Irlingerhof guest house and the Steininger garden center. At the right-hand bend we go straight ahead (do not turn to the main road!) Through the Zur Linde district, we continue downhill. Before the motorway underpass we come back to Herzog-Odilo-Straße, on which we get back to the town center. This circular tour can also be done well in bad weather and in winter, since the path is almost entirely paved. A stop at the Hussenbauer tavern is always worth a break (ask for opening times).
