From Baumschlagerreith in Hinterstoder you walk towards Steyr origin. The origin Steyr let your right and walk through a high forest and a gravelled walkway along. The forest road is crossed several times and you get to the hunting lodge Poppenalm. Next, it goes first to the rearmost flat Talwinkel and then climbs steeply up to a sparsely vegetated forest back. Now it is a partially secured with steel ropes climbing, which is surrounded by a romantic cliff scenery, up. The last 100 meters you go laboriously through a boulder field to Salzsteigjoch. A wonderful look back into Stodertal worth the effort. South of Salzsteigjoch the way to the Styrian side leads easily falling through pastures and by sparse larch forest to the hut Leist. From the service provider hut hike farther east on the trail number 209 on beautiful mountain pastures to the Inter huts. Halfway there, the trail number 277 branches off, leading to the Almkogel. According to the Inter huts it is now almost 300 meters descending to Grimmig stream that must be crossed. Now mostly flat hike along the shore and past the hunting lodge Hansel hut to another Wegabzweigung. Walk left now and continue to Türkenkarscharte. From the Türkenkarscharte is the descent over the Bärenalm and continue to Schafferreith done. From Schafferreith you hike the trail number 209 to the parking lot and into the valley Bärenalm back to the starting point at the inn Baumschlagerreith.
