Sure-footedness, a head for heights, stamina and a good level of fitness are basic requirements for a Traunstein tour. **Trail number 414: Naturfreunde Steig - walking time 3 hours** From the turnaround car park, take the Lainautalstrasse to reach the start of the Naturfreundesteig after the last tunnel and before the Lainaubrücke bridge. Right at the start, the path, which is partly designed as a via ferrata, leads almost vertically up a wall via iron ladders and equipped with rope safety devices. After passing old trees, the route now climbs moderately steeply to the "Überstieg", where the "old Naturfreundesteig" used to lead up to the rocky ridge. Then for a high rest through a mountain forest on a rocky ridge to the Schotterkar and through a rock gate to the exit directly at the Naturfreundehaus. A good level of fitness and a head for heights are essential to enjoy a beautiful tour up the Traunstein! **Character**: Scenic crossing of cat.
