From the car park with fountains and sign, follow the steep road to the mountain houses at the Salzberg. After the last house follow the sign to the right walk along the street, following the stream to a left turn at a tunnel entrance. Go straight ahead, up the old steep way until meeting the road again (47 ° 40‘39 „N - 013 ° 39‘26 „ E - 806 m). Here begins „1000 Staffeln“ path. There is information about the route on the back to the direction sign. Turn right and follow the trail uphill past a mountain chapel to a forest track. After this it‘s almost only steps to the Reinfalzalm (47 ° 40‘21 „N - 013 ° 39‘35„ E - 1020 m). At the Reinfalzalm cross the forest track. Follow the track to a hut and after the first left curve leave the track going straight on. A few minutes later follow a narrow trail uphill to the left (watch for the markings). The trail passes through partially wet terrain to an old track, stay on this to the meadows at Hütteneck (47 ° 39‘59 „N - 013 ° 40‘24 „ E - 1217 m). From here go right, and only 10 minutes on a good, gravel path to Hütteneckalm (Serviced Hütte in the summer). On the way back stay on the south side of Zwerchwand (interesting rock slide area) following the signs Roßmoosalm/Predigstuhl (this path section is under the care of the OeAV Bad Goisern). At Roßmoosalm follow the forest track for 500m (do not turn left!) To a hairpin bend (Törl). Turn right at a signpost (47 ° 39‘50 „N- 013 ° 38‘34 „E - 1047 m). Now it‘s about 1 hour through the woods down to the mountain houses at the Salzberg. The trail crosses a forest track twice Attention: At the second crossing do not follow the forest track. The trail follows the right hand side of the stream (47 ° 40‘23 „N - 013 ° 38‘31 „ E - 840 m). On reaching the mountain houses at Salzberg, a little further on the trail reaches the road, which was also used for the ascent.
