You enter a world of its own when you step onto the surface of the largest continental raised bog in Upper Austria. Huddled mountain pines, moss and bog bilberries and the cotton wools of cotton grass try to assert themselves on the peaty ground. Legends tell of a sunken city. The Lehrmüllermauern, a granite block castle on which a wooden castle once stood, offers a magnificent view over the moorland. After the hike, the moor buffet [**'MOOR-TREFF'**](https://www.liebenau.at/Moortreff_-_Kiosk_beim_Naturschutzgebiet_Tannermoor_Rubenerteich_) invites you to stop for refreshments (07953/81250 - [www.moor-treff.at)](http://www.moor-treff.at/ "www.moor-treff.at"). Hikers have the **opportunity** to be accompanied through the moor by **experienced mo** orland guides, who will tell you everything you need to know and have many an interesting story or legend to tell. This tour is particularly recommended for hiking groups and school classes.
