From the Rohrauerhaus in Spital am Pyhrn, trail 618 leads through a section of forest, past alpine meadows to the Hofalmsattel and Hofalm (45 minutes). Continue along trail 618 down into the Finstertal valley. At the junction with the forest road, follow the 618 marking slightly uphill past the Sonnleithner gravel pit into the Holzeralm and across the alpine meadow and mountain flank up to the Gowilalm. The hiking route will reward you with wonderful panoramic views.
