On a clear day you can see up to 54 two-thousand-meter mountain peaks From the Zickerreith car park on the Hengstpass, take the forest road on the left at the alpine hut up to the edge of the forest and on to Kreuzau. Continue straight ahead here, up through the woods again and past the Zeitschenberg (stay straight ahead on the marked forest road at all junctions). You will soon reach the pastures of the Dörflmoaralm and Hanslalm. From now on you are in the Kalkalpen National Park. Turn right and follow the hiking trail across the meadow slope to the Ahornsattel. There, turn right again and ascend along a marked forest path in hairpin bends. After a steep ascent, you will reach the summit of the Wasserklotz. The descent is to the west of the ascent via a marked path through the forest.
