From the centre of Hinterstoder, hikes alongside the Steyr to the Kreidelucke/Kreidehöhle cave. Starting from the tourist office in Hinterstoder, walk down the road past Café Bunkl and over the Steyr bridge. After the small house on the right-hand side, turn right (signpost Flötzersteig) onto the gravel road. Follow the Steyr or along a meadow, later through the forest, past a mill and the former Pension Prielkreuz (E. T. Compton's vacation home) to the bridge at Poppenberg. Now continue straight ahead along a beautifully laid out path to the fork in the trail (signpost, scratch station). Then left uphill via a small path in 5 minutes to the mighty portal of the Kreidelucke (guided tours possible).
