This is not only impressive because of its shape, the impressive view in particular will leave you breathless.** Hike to the Goiserer hut and the high Kalmberg ---------------------------------------------- The managed [**Goiserer Hütte**](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/oesterreich-unterkunft/detail/430000456/goiserer-huette-oesterreichischer-alpenverein.html?utm_source=tourdata&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=tourdata) is situated at **1,592 metres above sea level** between the Sonnenwendkogel and the **Hohen Kalmberg**. It can be reached from [**Gosau**](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/gosau-am-dachstein.html?utm_source=tourdata&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=tourdata) as well as from [**Bad Goisern**](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/bad-goisern-am-hallstaettersee.html?utm_source=tourdata&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=tourdata). The route described here leads from **Bad Goisern via the Trockentannalm**. The **high alpine tour** to the Goiserer Hütte and the high Kalmberg **requires stamina and surefootedness**. From the **Parking area Trockentann toboggan run (NOT in the Nordic Centre)**, follow the markings along the **steeply ascending forest road** to the **Trockentannalm**. You hike up in serpentines in **increasingly steep terrain**, past the **"Wallman-Poldl-Rast"**, a rest hut built by mountain enthusiasts from larch trees. From here you can already see up into the Tote Gebirge and down to Bad Goisern. The route continues **through magnificent larch fields** past the **Dichtlerin**, a water source around 15 minutes away from the Goiserer Hütte. After reaching the first destination, the Goiserer Hütte, and having fortified yourself with food and drink, the route continues **up to the summit of the high Kalmberg**. The **approximately 60-minute path** winds its way up through lickers and rocks, **past the [Kalmooskirche](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/oesterreich-poi/detail/430002125/gluecksplatz-kalmooskirche.html?utm_source=tourdata&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=tourdata)**. This interesting rocky hill is known for the secret church services held during the Counter-Reformation. You then reach the [**summit of the Kalmberg**](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/oesterreich-poi/detail/430010286/gluecksplatz-indianerkopf.html?utm_source=tourdata&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=tourdata), which is also known as the Indian because of its shape. From here, there is a **amazing view** over the Goiserertal, Gosau, the Gosaukamm and all the way to the Dachstein. On a clear day, you can even see the Großglockner. Back at the Goiserer Hütte, choose the **descent towards Hochmuth**. This **approx. 2.5 to 3-hour path** leads over the **marked "Knie" hilltop to the north** in a wide arc into the valley **via the village of Steinach to Bad Goisern**.
