Magnificent views are offered to you on this trail. **0 km** You walk from the **starting point of the church and the "Jahrhundertwebstuhl"** along Leonfeldner Straße and past the cemetery. Do **not take the road to Traberg**, but continue straight ahead. **Shortly afterwards, don't miss the turn-off to the right into Burgweg**, which is before the Wagner butcher's shop. Now there is a steep climb, past the Traxler joinery. Stay on Burgweg, continue straight ahead and leave the Altenschlag goods road. At the large beech tree, keep left and walk past the row of houses. The tarmac road ends here and a beautiful forest path begins. At the end of the forest, a bench invites you to take a break. With the castle always in sight, walk along a beautiful meadow path towards the ... **1.4 km Hof** . Here the path joins the tarmac access road before you turn left shortly afterwards and continue along the meadow path. You cross the farm track. Now you only have a short, uphill section along a row of bushes ahead of you until you reach the castle. **2.1 km** The **Piberstein Castle** was built around 1200 by the brothers Ruga and Arnold von Piber as a late Gothic tower castle. The Piber family died out in 1364 and the castle changed hands several times. In 1894, the castle passed into the possession of Countess Olimpia Revetera, the great-grandmother of the current owner, and in recent years, the castle has been renovated thanks to the joint commitment of the owner, the communities and associations as well as the generous support of the Cultural Office of the Upper Austrian Provincial Government. The castle has been renovated in recent years. Numerous cultural events now take place every year in the historic ambience. At the castle, walk past the rest bench on the left until you reach the Helfenberg-Traberg road. Now turn left and follow this road briefly before turning into the Altenschlag goods road. This little-used goods road now accompanies you to Helfenberg. The effort of the ascent and the downhill tarmac path that now follows is amply rewarded by the magnificent view. The signposts take you to the ... **4.4 km** village of **Thurnerschlag.** After about 100 metres you reach a fork in the path. The signpost on the barn opposite points to the right.
