Follow the road toward Grünwald for 650 m, then turn right back onto the road. Continue along the road, which turns into a forest trail, until you reach the... **2.6 km**...**Schrollenbach Lock**. The irrigation canal has been restored at this point. Demonstration flotations take place here during the summer months. [You can find the current dates for the annual demonstration log drives here.](https://www.schwarzenbergischer-schwemmkanal.at/en/events) Via this canal, which opened in 1790 and was in operation for about 100 years, approximately 8 million cubic meters of timber were floated from the Bohemian Forest to the Große Mühl and then on by raft to Vienna.
