This partly shady tour (ideal for hot summer days) leads along the edge of the Weilhartsforst forest through a varied landscape. From Hochburg via Überackern, Gilgenberg past the Holzöstersee lake, on to the idyllic Huckingersee lake and through the Weilhartsforst forest back to Hochburg. **Start:** In Hochburg you can visit the Franz Xaver Gruber Memorial House and the FXG Peace Trail (composer of Silent Night). A walk gives an idea of the familiar surroundings in which the famous Christmas carol has its roots. From Hochburg we cycle towards Überackern, along the forest through Grünhilling and at Seehof we cross the main road to Braunau. From there, we cycle through the forest to Überackern and over a steep incline back onto the main road to Braunau. We cross this road and cycle through the Weilhartforst forest to Weidenthal. The route continues on low-traffic side roads through the rural cultural landscape from Gilgenberg to Röhrn and Zaisberg past Lohnsberg to Webersdorf. We cycle along the Weilhart forest via Reith and Gasteig to the road. Cross the road and turn right at the chapel to the main road to Werberg and cycle through the Weilhartforst forest via Oberfranking to Holzöster. From Holzöster we cycle along the Holzöstersee lake with a slight incline to Hehermoos. The tour continues to Haid - Fucking past Forsthaus Weißplatz to the Huckinger See junction. We cycle along to the junction with the road to Hochburg and then cycle along this road to Hochburg.
