The "black" trail to the Hoher Nock is well signposted and only recommended under safe weather conditions! Hiking trail: 39, 466 **Directions:** At 600 ha, the Feichtau is the largest of the 20 grazed (managed) alms in the Kalkalpen National Park. The rustic forest around it has not been used for many decades. The rebuilt alpine hut includes a stable and a cheese dairy; solar energy provides the necessary hot water. From Bodinggraben a 3.3 km long forest road runs westward along the Blöttenbach. Past the Lettneralm, after about 30 minutes we reach the idyllic Blumaueralm situated at the valley head. Our path crosses the meadow area and then at a large hairpin (turnaround hut) becomes a cart track that follows the brook. There is always a magnificent view of the massive northern cliffs of the Nock massif. Unique here is that the mixed mountain forest extends directly up into the rocky regions. Finally, the path in the forest begins to ascend more steeply. Before the Haltersitz we pass the Herzerlsee, which in spring is a refuge for orange-bellied alpine newts. Afterwards, we keep right and reach the connecting ridge between Nock and Rotgsoll. Only a quarter of an hour separates us now from the Feichtau Alm: On the red-marked Nock ascent trail, you go right through rustic spruce forest to the no longer managed Polzhütte and the ÖAV self-catering hut. After the snack, you can choose between the short hike through the so-called Feichtau primeval forest to the two Feichtau lakes and the difficult mountain tour to the Hoher Nock, the highest summit in the 20 km long Sengsengebirge. If you choose the latter route, follow trail 466 back to the Haltersitz, go briefly through the west flank and then again on the ridge up to a large mountain pine thicket. Pass a pulpit-like rock and through pine corridors under the overhanging rocks of the north ridge into the wide, scree-filled Nockkar. Through this with constant ascent to a small hollow from which you climb over rubble and small rock steps a slanting, gorge-like gully. It opens the way to the wavy plateau with its dolines. To the right it is worth a detour to the cross on the Seehagel - wonderful panoramic view down to the lakes. To the left, the nearby summit meadow.
