We start this hiking tour at the village of Plomberg. First we cross the federal road, turn half right (at the hedgehog aid) and continue our hike until we reach St. Thekla's chapel. Behind the chapel we cross the wooden bridge an continue our hike in the direction to "Almkogel". Now an exhausting climb over a stony trail through the wood leads us to the peak of the Almkogel where we are rewarded with a fantastic view over lake Mondsee. After a short rest and leaving a note in the summit book we follow the gravel road until we reach the Eibensee (yew lake). This mountain lake is an idyllic nature paradise. After another foto stop we make a u-turn back to the Almkogel. Before reaching the summit again turn right on trail #16 and later trail #15 back to the street along the Mondsee lake. We follow the waterside back to the starting point.
