Austria is a land where much creative genius has flowed and still is. Among the country´s most famous authors is Alois Brandstätter who is Pichl´s most famous son: The University Professor and famous Austrian author was born and raised in Pichl. He later settled in Carinthia yet continues to come back and visit his birthplace which is full of childhood memories. Alois Brandstätter´s writings reflect its love for the scenic countryside surrounding Pichl and its people.
