The name “Goldwörth” dates back to the times when people where panning for gold in the many branches of the Danube. Over the years Goldwörth has developed into a popular residential town which offers a wide range of sports facilities, culture and events. The redesign of the town square has brought life back to the center of Goldwörth. The fountain – which represents a gold panning sifter – has turned into a resting place for cyclists and children and serves as meeting point for cycling and hiking tours in the scenic surroundings. The new playground offers a safe space for children to romp about to their hearts content. Another popular attraction is the mini steam-train in Hagenau.
