Today, Ulrichsberg is one of the largest tourist communities in the Šumava region and impresses in winter with the [Nordic Centre Šumava](https://www.boehmerwald.at/langlaufen/artikel/detail/2985/langlaufen-im-nordischen-zentrum-boehmerwald.html), which offers cross-country skiing enthusiasts over 70 km of perfectly groomed trails. The [Alpine skiing area Hochficht](https://www.boehmerwald.at/skiurlaub/oesterreich-poi/detail/430009937/skigebiet-hochficht-skispass-fuer-die-ganze-familie.html) is only approx. 8 km away. In Ulrichsberg there is the only [indoor swimming pool](https://www.boehmerwald.at/oesterreich/poi/430001041/vitalhallenbad-ulrichsberg.html) within a radius of approx. 40 km. The charming market town of Ulrichsberg am Böhmerwald has a glassy past with the village of Sonnenwald (Sonnenwald glassworks). Ulrichsberg is dominated by the [parish church](https://www.boehmerwald.at/oesterreich/poi/430001191/pfarrkirche-ulrichsberg.html), built in the Gothic style and dedicated to St. Ulrich. Jazz is at home in Ulrichsberg: contemporary music is emphasised in the [jazz studio](https://www.boehmerwald.at/oesterreich/poi/430001144/jazzatelier-ulrichsberg.html). The exhibitions organised throughout the year are also worth seeing. The major event "Ulrichsberger Kaleidophon" (international festival with improvisation and new music) always attracts many music lovers from all over Europe.
