Steegen offers a special look back in time where history has left its mark for visitors to explore and enjoy: The present village grew up around a Medieval settlement on the banks of the Steegenbach stream. The former Nobility Seat of Steegen was first recorded in historical documents in the year 1371. From 1826 to 1930 the Manor House was in the hands of the Eisterer Family. Today, the historical building houses the St. Pius' Home for Handicapped Children.
