Nestled among the imposing mountains, on the shores of Lake Hallstatt, this small town is the ideal starting point for many activities, such as hiking, mountaineering, biking, swimming, pleasure biking, visiting the many sights, or simply relaxing and finding happiness.** The World Heritage town of Obertraun is small but beautiful, located directly on the shores of Lake Hallstatt and surrounded by nature. The village is located in a valley along the Traun estuary, surrounded by high mountains. The most striking feature is the Dachstein Krippenstein, which towers over the valley at 2,100 metres and is a paradise for outdoor activities. From Obertraun, you can quickly and easily reach the Dachstein caves and hike to wonderful power spots such as the Koppenwinklsee lake or the Koppenbrüller cave. The **5fingers viewing platform** offers a fantastic view. A little higher still is the **World Heritage Spiral**, from where you can overlook the mountains of the Dachstein Salzkammergut holiday region.
