Gilgenberg am Weilhart

Gilgenberg am Weilhart, Oberösterreich, Österreich
Welcome to Gilgenberg am Weilhart! Pristine Gilgenberg provides the perfect setting for hikers and cyclists!

Helmbrecht Trail takes you on a journey back to the Middle Ages. This scenic trail features several interpretive panels which provide interesting historic information. The 30-kilomter long trail starts in Burghausen in Germany, crosses into Austria where it travels along the edge of a dark-green forest to Hochburg/Ach. From there it continues to Gilgenberg and Duttendorf before returning to Burghausen.

One of Gilgenberg’s most beautiful sights is its late-gothic parish church.

Other worthwhile attractions include a wooden sculpture of the Mount of Olives (approx. 1490), an ossuary (around 1410) which holds the bones of the dead, the old parish, an early baroque building which once was the summer residence for the provosts of Ranshofen.

We look forward to welcoming you soon!
